Bible Study - Parents Guide

Family Bible Study

Have you ever thought about what it means to be part of God's family? In this week's Bible study, we're going to explore an amazing truth - that when we believe in Jesus, we become children of God! This isn't just a nice way of saying we believe in God. It means we actually become part of His family, with all the amazing benefits and responsibilities that come with being a child of the King.

  • The text differs between younger children and older children/adults. But the readings, ideas, and possilble answers are the same. So you can download different version for different family members and still all do the study and discussion together.

  • Choose the appropriate booklet for your child. Booklets are labelled A, B, C, D so that you can choose a level that is appropriate for each family member. (eg: a teenager, who is a new Christian, may benefit more from the middle school booklet, as the language is simpler. Or you may have a year 3 (Junior) who is a very competent reader and would benefit from the middle booklet, and a year 1 (Junior) who would benefit more from the Pre-School level booklet.)

Booklet A = Toddlers/Pre Schoolers (Age under 5 years)

Booklet B = Junior Schoolers (Age 6-9 years)

Booklet C = Middle Schoolers (10-13 years)

Booklet D = Teens/Adults (Age 14+ years)

  • Important for families with teens, starting a Family Bible Study for the first time.

- Include food (could be dessert or other enticing food)

- Let the discussion flow, even if it goes off track

- Be prepared to answer tough or embarrassing questions with openness and honesty

  • Important for families with very young children

- Make your studies very short

- It is more important at this age to build the habit of regular Bible study, than it is to get the answers correct or complete the activity. You are building habits at this age, not theology

  • You can download/Print as many copies of this study as you need for personal family use.

(this includes relatives living with you or visiting your house when you do the study, but does not extend to sending copies to extended family who do not live with you. If you are wanting to use Booklet D for youth group or small group study you can purchase the copies and licence HERE [Don't forget your coupon code!])

(Due to the nature of this theme, it can be printed in colour or greyscale, so only colour copies are provided)
